It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
Scottie Hui, youngest son of Canto-Rock legend Sam Hui, has been filming Happy Wednesday events for over a year.
He has also met nearly all the jockeys and trainers and those involved in horse racing in Hong Kong.
But he has never had a bet.
Until yesterday.
Scottie wanted to bet HK$1,000.
No one around him wanted to take the pressure of taking on this “task”- and “ask.”
So, with some considerable help from Jerry, the racing expert at the Beer Garden, Scottie spent HK$600 on a quinella/place bet in Race 7.
It came in and gave him a net profit of over HK$8,500.
Will he bet again?
Yes. But carefully and knowing he has a nice “financial cushion” on his side.
