Will Mata Matter?

New Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas has “up-loaded” another option to his midfield weaponry – the signing of Spanish international Juan Mata for £29M fromValencia.


AVB has an embarrassment of riches in midfield.

In addition to Mata, he also has the likes of Lampard, Malouda, Kalou, Ramiries, Benayoun, McEachran, Romeu and Lukaku.


Surely, AVB wouldn’t dare drop Lamps from the starting line-up so soon into his Chelsea tenure?

So ultimately, it’s only two open spots for this Rich Bunch to fight over.

Will Mata matter, or will it be What’s Mata?
