There was a time when fans had to pick sides: One either liked Paul, or one with liked John.

Could we just “let it be”?

Now, many of us can.

Paul was always “The Cute Beatle” who sang cute pop songs.

John was sardonic and “more hip.”

For years, Paul tried to tell all that he was equally hip, how he had dropped acid before John etc.

As for George and Ringo, well, they were great the way they were.

It was always down to John and Paul- and Yoko and Linda.

We took sides when there were no sides to take.

It was always about the music. It still is.

Even if it’s for no one.

But, baby, you know, it’s all for you.

Was “Yesterday” as good as “Imagine”?

Could Paul rock like John?

Today? Who cares? They were magic, the Beatles were magic and their songs were magic.

They were Merlin sent to us to create musical magic.

They are Jedi Masters sent to us.
