Bring the racing site that welcomes the new generation of racing fans, we receive a number of questions, some on the weird side- do the same horses run in every race? Why do jockeys wear blouses? If there is 6up, is there a 7Up?- and others that have even made us go, hmmm, perhaps we can’t see the forest for the trees…

Below are very real questions asked- and which are not that dumb- and our answers as we’ve been truly stumped.

Q: How do I win for sure? I hate losing. A: Don’t bet. Try robbing a bank.

Q: How do I get to bet over the phone? A: First, own a phone, then go to the nearest Off-course Betting Centre, and the nice lady managing the outlet will help- and then- PRESTO- you will have opened your own telebet account.

Q: What’s the cheapest way to get to the Shatin race track? A: Hitchhike.

Q: Do I HAVE to wear a hat to get in to the races? A: Not unless you’re The Queen, The Cisco Kid, The Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassidy or Lady Gaga.

Q: Must I fill in one of those tickets to bet? A: Not if you’re using a phone to place your bets.

Q: Do I get a refund if I lose? A: No.

Q: Where do I go to collect my prize? A: Go to the window that says PAY.

Wait until it says PAY instead of running around with your winning ticket. Relax for five minutes and exhale slowly.

Q: Can I go and pet the horses? A: Not when they’re racing.

Q: Is a racing steward like a steward on a plane or like Gopher on The Love Boat? A: Kinda- but a racing steward doesn’t serve you peanuts.
