The new way of looking at horse racing

NO YEAHS YEAHS FOR TAI SING YEY

It reefed, it pulled and it gave jockey Gerard Mosse one helluva torrid ride.

It also didn’t provide any Yeahs Yeahs for its backers.

Tai Sing Yeh was one of the first horses beaten and despite being the 3 to 1 favourite, finished almost six lengths from the winner.

That type of loss was very difficult to even comprehend.

The winner- trainer Danny Shum’s At Moment In Time- was, ironically, ridden by the one-time regular jockey of Tai Sing Yeh- Zac Purton.

While it took all the skill, coolness and patience of Purton to settle At Moment In Time down and find an inside passage for his mount, the three-pronged attack from trainer John Moore came undone.

The stable pick- Let Me Fight ridden by Jeff Lloyd- looked all set to be the winner.

However, despite a big drop in the handicaps, a perfect barrier draw and a good ride, the horse just did not have much at the end.

It had no fight left in it.

It was knocked out near the winning post.

We have to wonder if it might not be as good as we once thought it to be.
