Time flies and it’s the finale of Happy Valley racing for the season. Looking at the cards, Me Y S Tsui is sending out a massive troop of runners.
JUST GOOD (Race 1, No. 11) has been hitting consistent form towards the end of the season and he is still narrowly short of a sufficient rating to keep his racing career going. This late-finisher always used to find the straight at the Happy Valley course a bit too short for him, and he has also got bad luck at the barrier draw this time. Jockey William Pike has never won in Happy Valley this season, but the 1200m at the Valley is already his best distance, having placed twice in eleven starts. Let’s see if he would be able to save the horse from mandatory retirement.
GOLD EDITION (Race 6, No. 5) is another realistic hope for Tsui, with a 100% place record over the 1000m. His draw is reasonable, with visiting jockey James McDonald on board, and if he is allowed to a soft lead, the short straight at the Valley will be to his liking.
BANKSTERS BONUS (Race 8, No. 8 ) could go close again, after coming 2nd and 1st in his last two runs respectively at the Valley. He’s up in class, but the convincing way he ran his last two races suggest that he will still progress.
Happy Valley, Happy Wednesday. We’ll be back at the Valley with more exciting races next season!
