The adventures in Australia of that great galloper Lucky Nine might be paramount in the mind of trainer Caspar Fownes but the popular trainer flew back especially for this weekend’s racing.

One of the reasons is to watch the run of Lucky Eighty Eight, owned by the same connections as Lucky Nine.

With Zac Purton in the saddle, Cas gives the horse a big chance with a mile looking its best distance.

In the meantime, the odds of 8 to 1 in Australia for Lucky Nine’s first run Down Under must look incredulous to local racing fans!
