Director James “Avatar” “Titanic” “Terminator” Cameron has been tapped to co-direct a theatrical ‘live’ performance about the life and times of the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong.
The request/offer comes from Mao’s hometown in Hunan province and with the production being in the hands of a newly formed company called the Runze Oriental Group. Frankly we cannot see this happening and put it down to a nice idea and wishful thinking.
James Cameron is a noted control freak.
He will work with some new production house in Hunan?
We don’t think so.
And for a production budget of HK$609,000- around US$100,000?
This type of money would not even be enough to get the Director outta bed.
