IS OPRAH GETTING DESPERATE AND BEING “DIS-OWNED”?

Around two years ago, Oprah Winfrey could do no wrong: Celebrities begged to appear on her show, Oprah endorsing unknown brands was worth millions, her ratings were untouchable, her endorsement of politicians meant a shoe-in for them etc.
Oprah told us to run and we did. She told us to diet and we did. She told us to read and we did.
Everyone with something new to flog went to Oprah and to “Oprah.”
Everyone loved Oprah and Oprah loved everybody.
When she called it quits as the host of her hugely popular talk show and started up her own media powerhouse- and show and channel called- what else?- OWN- it seemed to e something which would even be bigger than Facebook and Twitter combined.
But this didn’t happen: OWN has seen creative directors up and leave, it’s programming being of little relevance and OWN being more like Dis-OWN.
Now comes the embarrassment to end all embarrassments: Oprah caught tweeting people with a Nielsen Box- and which helps in the ratings game- to switch from the Grammys to watch her show and channel.
Not cool at all and which has resulted in the Big O issuing a public apology for this bad faux pas.
It also raises question about many of her past “successes” and how they came about and if strings were being pulled.
