Just in case, like us, you were thinking that great Rock’n Roll photography started and ended with the great Annie Leibovitz, well, it didn’t.
Who can, for example, forget the ground-breaking work of our old mate Robert Freeman?
After Swinging London swung no more for him and with jobs in the UK hard to find, Freeman found himself in Hong Kong directing television commercials.
His work for the Beatles – “With The Beatles,” “Beatles For Sale”, “Hard Days Night” and “Rubber Soul”- were ground-breaking works of art that have stood the test of time.
There was also the work of photographers Henry Diltz and Gered Mankowitz.
In the book reviewed below, it’s one hot shot after the next and one trip after another.
Visit it and you might never leave.
