HONG KONG TVB’S “BRIDE WANNABES”: TACKY, TACKY, TACKY!

Not only is the television station and its TVB Jade Channel unoriginal, they copy something, decide to tweak it to avoid copyright infringement and manage to piss off many.

A blatant copy of the equally tacky American reality show called “The Bachelor”, TVB’s “Here Come The Bride Wannabes” follows the “adventures” of five single Hong Kong women looking for “Mr. Right.” A “Mr.Right”? In Hong Kong? Is there such a beast? Doesn’t every “Mr.Right” have something on the side stashed away somewhere?

Along the way, these five desperate women are given “advice” by various “experts” in the field of grooming, texting “etiquette” and other daft “Guides For The Single Woman.”

“Experts” and “sexperts” like the greasy bloke named Santino. Yes, even his name is fake.

Already, “The Bachelor” and the equally tacky “The Bachelorette” have been dismissed as materialistic, cheap and obscene pieces of crap lacking in any redeeming social values.

It appears that TVB has now brought this same crassness to Hong Kong.

How on earth these five single women will ever find their “Mr. Right” by making jackasses of themselves on television, beats us.

It’s exactly like dating one of those desperate women after seeing them willing to go through anything to snare their “Bachelor.”

Frankly, it’s not that different to going to a club and paying for an “escort” whom you know has been “around the block” and is “damaged” goods.

A far better reality series might be finding out what makes these “advisors” such “experts” on finding true love.

This is absolute crap- on all fronts- and an insult to women- and men.
