HAS THE TRAINERS RACE BEEN RUN AND WON

When Douglas Whyte won the last race of the so-called “Shatin Finale Race” meeting aboard All You Wish, he racked up his 100th win for the season.

He also could have sewn up the Trainers Championship for the horse’s trainer- Dennis Yip- who now goes into Wednesday’s Happy Valley meeting holding a slender but important two wins lead over Tony Cruz and four wins ahead of John Size.

Before this last race win- as what happened last Thursday at the Valley when Cheers Joy wiped out Tony Cruz’s great double, this time, All You Wish broke the deadlock where all four leading trainers had won one race each.

So, we head to Happy Valley on Wednesday and have to wonder if anyone has a chance of catching Dennis Yip and if the video below, made on the fly and edited to star the local trainer, was extremely prophetic.
