It’s something heard often: Jockeys in Hong Kong are treated like Rock stars. The reason is that it’s true. And in a horse racing-mad city like Hong Kong, racing fans have very strong views about their favourites whereas those new to the sport follow the jockeys who appeal to them- for their looks, because they’ve heard of them, because of their winning strike rate- and if they have somehow met them.

The best place to meet these Rock stars of the turf, up close and personal? At any Happy Wednesday night at Happy Valley racecourse.
