Here are Euro-Baller’s top selections for this weekend’s football matches:
1. Hoffemheim vs Bayern Munich (GSL, Oct – 9.30pm HKT)
Bayern are unstoppable of late and their star-studded midfield army of Schweinsteiger, Ribery, Muller and Robben- all injury-free- are scarey!!
Not a good time for Hoffenheim to host this season’s Bundesliga Champions to be.
Prediction – Bayern: Away Win
2. Blackburn Rovers vs Manchester City (EPL, Oct 1 – 10.00pm HKT)
Mancini and his City team will be desperate to get back to their winning ways after being force-fed some humble pie by Bayern Munich in the UCL midweek game.
Get ready for Silva and Aguero to run riot over Blackburn.
Prediction – Man City: Away Win
3. Barnsley vs Coventry City (ED1, Oct 1 – 10.00am HKT)
At the bottom of the Championship clash, Barnsley has drawn their last five games and Coventry has also drawn four from their last six. Spoils to be shared would seem the logical bet.
But, Coventry really are damn awful this season.
So take Barnsley to snap their run of draws.
Prediction – Barnsley: Home Win
4. Inter Milan vs Napoli (Serie A, Oct 2 – 2.45am HKT)
Both teams had UCL victories in midweek against CSKA Moscow and Villareal respectively and look in good nick.
But, Inter hold an Indian sign over the Neopolitans at the San Siro and will take all three points.
Prediction – Inter: Home win
5. Athletico Madrid vs Sevilla (SFL , Oct 3 – 12.00am HKT)
Sevilla take their unbeaten La Liga record to the Jose Calderon Stadium and take on an Atletico team coming off an embarassing 0-5 spanking by Barcelona last weekend and will be eager to rebound.
Atletico score freely when playing at home and will hand-out Sevilla’s first defeat of the season.
Prediction – Atletico: Home Win
