AGAIN?
SO WHAT?
Every time, there’s some big event, Coca-Cola jumps onto the bandwagon.
They latch themselves onto the only thing they know: Music.
And every time the do, there’s a huge amount of hype attached to this activity.
Like now working with producer Mark Ronson on some new “inspirational song” for the 2012 Olympics.
Before, shit like this would be shoveled by Simon Cowell.
Does one honestly believe Mark Ronson gives a flying fuck about this track?
It’s just another project and more dosh.

Know what?
Nothing Coca-Cola has got behind in music has worked.
Once the event is over, so is the music.
We still remember some “global music marketing” guy at Coca-Cola signing up some African dude – K’naan- for a “global” World Cup Song.
He boasted about how BIG this would be.
Where’s K’naan today?
In fact, when he pulled out of a Hennessy Artistry event in China last year, the brand’s music marketing company freaked out.
They were willing to book ANY Black Rap/”World” artist- as long as they sang his Coca- Cola anthem.
As someone from the music marketing company in China said to us, “No one will notice it’s not the real black man singing it.”
Fucking bloody charming.
