ADAM LAMBERT AND QUEEN: WHO F***ING CARES???

Let’s just cut straight to the chase and this never-ending tale of woe and hype: NO ONE will ever replace Freddie Mercury as the front man for Queen. Okay?
For a while, George Michael tried and then it was down to Paul Rodgers from Free with a hairpiece- and none succeeded ‘cos “Freddie’s not dead” to us hardcore Queen fans. Freddie Mercury is and was Queen and anyone trying to “take his place” or “pay tribute to him” is crap- opportunistic crap.
This hype about Adam Lambert fronting the band is as repulsive as INXS having a reality show to find a lead singer to replace our very good mate, the late Michael Hutchence: Sorry, there are some people who are irreplaceable and the band’s manager- Chris Murphy- is showing signs of desperation. Some bloke called JD Fortune replacing “Hutchy”? Give us a break, mate. You’re milking a cow that has nothing more to give.
It’s like the Stones without Mick or Keith: It won’t work- AND it’s downright creepy. Some of us went to school with “Hutchy” and he must be rolling in his grave at what is being done to his legacy.
Same with Adam Lambert and Queen: It’s a 30-year-old guy who has been playing supper clubs in LA long before being “discovered” by the producers of “Idol”- and Paula Abdul- and all these tweets being meaningless hype. Whoever is still managing Lambert’s career is taking it down the crapper: He has a new record to focus on- and with the first single being f-ing boring. Now comes all this Queen clutter.
Seriously, does Adam Lambert realize that he is becoming a parody and caricature of himself and how, after all these years of hype, he is still NOT A STAR? He should go on SNL or GLEE and lighten up.
We’ve read about his upcoming “sophomoric” album. Huh? “Sophomoric?” What about that tedious 14 track piece of bibs and bobs which did nada on the charts despite all the highly-paid producers, arrangers and songwriters and incredible hype from 19?
That record was an A&R disaster and “Glamberts” better understand this and that their boy does not walk on water.
Our great fear is that Adam Lambert is believing his own hype and is simply being “sold” to the public for being openly gay and not for his music.
He is being manipulated by the media and turned into gimmick fodder- and his Management better see this.
Pity ‘cos Lambert really needs new management and a record label which doesn’t just release formulaic fluff.
Bottom line: By now, Adam Lambert should be a fucking Superstar: He’s had more opportunities to be one than any other performer we can think of. And yet, like years ago, it’s still about some appearance with those old farts in Queen and nothing to take his SOLO career beyond a few scrapes in Finland with his boyfriend and a tepid new single.
Sorry, Adam, but we have met you, we like you; we think you have a tremendous voice, but you and only you are being self-destructive and having your career self-implode.
Oh, and enough with the tweets. They are all meaningless. Give us some GREAT music and go record a GREAT new version of “Wild Boys” with Duran Duran just as we told you to do when we last met and stop being a quasi “red carpet celebrity.” At your age and the time you’ve been trying to make it, you should be a real STAR by now. But, this STAR is still to be Born and as every year goes by, the opportunities wither. And soon, the hair will go and the paunch will set in and Adam Lambert will become a wannabe Elton John or, gawd forbid, George Michael- but without the hits, the creativity and the career.
